Rhinebeck Village Futures Initiative: Visualizing a Shared Civic Future
The Rhinebeck Village Futures Initiative invited the community to imagine what thoughtful growth, preservation, public space and civic life could look like in Rhinebeck’s future.
Rayogram worked in collaboration with the VFI team to help shape the project’s public-facing identity, visual language and digital experience. The goal was to make a complex, community-driven planning conversation feel clear, welcoming and visually engaging—something people could understand quickly, explore at their own pace and feel invited to participate in.
Our work brought together strategy, branding, design and visualization. We developed a web experience that introduces the initiative, frames the ideas behind it and presents the work in a way that feels both civic-minded and optimistic. The design uses a strong visual system—large typography, layered illustration, architectural forms, color and motion—to create a sense of place and forward movement.
A central challenge was balancing imagination with credibility. The project needed to feel expansive and future-oriented without becoming abstract or detached from Rhinebeck itself. We used visual storytelling to connect planning ideas to recognizable forms: buildings, streetscapes, civic space and the lived texture of the village.
The resulting experience functions as both introduction and invitation. It gives the initiative a clear public presence, helps people understand the purpose of the work and creates a visual framework for continued conversation, presentation and community engagement.
